A richly flowering and exuberantly growing selection from the European species A. lusitanicum, formerly Allium senescens subsp. montanum. Roy Diblik of the Northwind Perennial Farm found the plant in a garden of one of his clients and multiplied it in his nursery. Throughout the summer the spherical inflorescence appears, composed of numerous lilac-purple flowers accompanied by healthy shiny leaves that remain attractive until the fall. As befits an Allium, it attracts many butterflies and bees.
