The original C. leichtlinii originates from British Columbia to Washington, U.S.A. Named after Maximilian Leichtlin (1831-1890), a horticultural expert from Germany. The 60-80 cm long stems are densely set with large star-shaped cream-colored flowers, with a bluish glow and violet-blue stamens.
