This probable hybrid of C. cilicicum was first seen in Asia Minor in 1597. The broad, strongly ribbed leaves never appears earlier than in spring. From the strikingly large tubers grow twenty purple flowers. One of the best indoor flowering dry bulbs, but it should be planted in the garden immediately after flowering.
