B. ‘Benitochiba’ is not hardy. Because of its beautiful leaf shape and colour, this cultivar that originated in Japan is very good to use as a patio plant, in combination with other plants. From mid to late May until the end of October, the plant can be left outside after that, keep in a frost-free place at at least 5 C on the dry side, to overwinter.
