Native to southern China and Taiwan, this Gesneriaceae called Titanotrichum oldhamii, also called Chinese Foxglove is a hardy beautiful yellow flowering garden plant. The opposite hairy oval-round,have saw-edged serrated leaves.
On flower stalks some 25-50 cm long, many eye-catching yellow tubular flowers, 5-6 cm in length, are clustered together and marked brown inside. Like almost all Gesneria genera, Titanotrichum develops best in a moist, slightly acidic soil mixture of equal parts leaf and needle woodland soil. The first year after planting, it is still advisable to apply a winter cover of leaf and garden litter.
