Description
An ornamental grass that is, inter alia, native to China, and still relatively unknown in Europe.
It was found that the plant, after being fully rooted, is hardy in the Netherlands.
On a sunny spot, in any soil, it can grow into beautiful tufts, the heart of the plant consisting of many, up to 50 cm long, narrow leaves that grow from up to 2 m long flower stems. At the ends of those stems are a pagoda-like inflorescences, off which the blooming side branches gracefully hang. They are later adorned by many pearl-shaped green fruits, swaying back and forth in the slightest breeze. Cover with leaves the first year after planting.
