Crocosmia is found in the south-eastern coastal regions of South Africa. The dried flowers, immersed in water, smell strongly of saffron. Known by the name Montbretia. Probably the most dark-red, large-flowered Crocosmia available today. Vigorous plant with broadly pleated leaves.
