Description
Characteristic of this autumn crocus from the southern and western Peloponnese are the variable-sized black stamens (melantherus means black stamens). Nevertheless, there may be plants in which the stamens are not black. The outer petals of the white flowers are grey-veined or speckled, the throat is yellow. Long-flowering, sometimes into winter.
