Intro: 1868. C. alatavicus is found near melting snow in mountain meadows at altitudes of 1100-2400 metres. Its range extends from Tashkent in Uzbekistan to eastern and westernmost China, the only species naturally occurring there. White flowers with a yellow throat, the outer petals are grey to purple.
