Description
Origin: southern 'Yugoslavia' to southern Hungary, but mainly on the limestone hills of Dalmatia. Especially richly flowering are these star-shaped light lavender-blue flowers, often with a slight brownish-yellow glow on the outer three petals. Propagates spontaneously and is an excellent crocus for naturalising. Blooms in February, or in case of a longer frost period in March. Native plant.
