Description
Intro: 1808. G. plicatus was named by German botanist F.A. Marchall von Bieberstein in 1819. Originally occurring in the Crimea. The name plicatus (pleated, folded) refers to the shape of the leaf, which is an important characteristic for this Galanthus and all its derived forms. Incidentally, there are many forms of this larger snowdrop in circulation. The inner petals have a green spot on the tip. The bell-shaped flowers are white on the outside.
