I am not sure whether we are dealing with a form of G. italicus (G. segetum) or a from seed selected form of G. communis subsp. byzantinus. A range of hardy and easy growing gladioli is well-suited in the border between the perennials. Pale violet-red flower spikes and and beautiful seed pods after flowering.
Origin: large parts of southern Europe.
