Found north of the Kura river, in the Caucasus in Georgia. A low Iris belonging to the section Oncocyclus. Conditions in which this beauty is found are often miserable, very dry, little rain in spring and nights when it can be quite cold. Best grown in a pot in a greenhouse. The relatively large flowers are brilliantly veined, in shades of brown and purple.
