Description
Introduced in 1876 by Mrs Danford. The plant has very narrow blue-grey leaves. The golden yellow flowers with green specks on the lip appear in February. Origin: Turkey (Taurus Mountains). Light scent. The umbel of Iris danfordiae has the odd habit to fall apart in many small beads after flowering. This can be prevented by planting it deeper and a generous amount of fertilizer.
