Intro: 1629. Division 10. Hoop’s petticoat. Origin: Algeria, Morocco, Spain, Portugal and south-western France. The range consists of a large-flowered selection that flowers much better and more abundantly than the species, with several flower stalks (up to 7) appearing per bulb. Prefers a sunny spot and not too dry soil.
