Description
A notable species from South Africa where it is found on moist clay soils derived from igneous rocks in the area of the Bokkenveld Plateau and the Roggeveldberge. First described by Robert Sweet in 1830. The intensely burgundy-coloured flowers show a slightly edged, black base spot on each petal. The three to five very slender leaves are grooved.
