Paintbrush, native to the Transvaal (South Africa). The bulbs are mostly used for indoor cultivation, but in the border also works. In the beginning, the bulbs use a lot of water and regular watering also promotes growth. The bulbous inflorescence is located at the to of a 40 cm tall stem. The flower stem is mottled and the cluster of very small orange-red flowers and dozens of protruding stamens is enclosed by fleshy red bracts.
